The Makita® 18V LXT® cordless 1/4 sheet finishing sander (XOB02) offers all the power and control of a corded version but without the cord. It offers fine finish sanding for a variety of applications. There are two speed settings at 11,000 and 14,000 opm that can be selected through a convenient one-touch speed control. The XOB02Z uses 4-1/2 x 4 in abrasive paper. The battery and motor locations are engineered to reduce flutter for a more evenly finished surface. It features an efficient through-the-pad dust collection system with a built-in dust port making it easy to connect to a Makita® vacuum system for a cleaner work environment. Convenience features include an ergonomically designed rubberized grip for increased comfort and control, as well as a large clamping lever for quick and easy paper installation. It's part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT® System, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® lithium-ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita® created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is a communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
